In a significant milestone for gender equity in security, ASIS International Malaysia Chapter took part in the inaugural Women in Security Conference (WISC) 2025 on 29 April 2025, held at the Cyberview Resort & Spa in Cyberjaya. The event, themed “Shaping the Future of Security: Women Leading the Way in ASEAN,” marked a historic moment for women professionals across the region.
Organized alongside the Family Business Sustainability & Entrepreneurship Conference, WISC 2025 featured inspiring sessions that included:
- A keynote by YBhg. Dato’ Sasikala Devi Subramaniam, former Deputy Chief of Police for Selangor and a recipient of the Top 30 Women in Security ASEAN 2024 award, who shared personal stories from her distinguished career.
- Officiation and opening remarks by Puan Saliza Abdullah, followed by a keynote address from YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Women, Family & Community Development. The Minister praised both conferences for promoting female participation in strategic sectors, and aligned with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chair theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability”.
ASIS Malaysia was well represented in all three plenary dialogues by delegates Siti, Mary, Ryan, and Chris. Key topics included the evolving role of women in both physical and cyber security, and the importance of male allyship in driving gender equity.
